Youth Employment Program - "Youth Bridges"

Summer Youth Employment Program

Mission Statement: Promote the development of work ethics and behaviors, leadership skills and entrepreneurial opportunities for teens and young adults within the community.

Goals:

  • Provide coordination and supervision for teens and young adults seeking summer employment.
  • Provide education and training in a variety of vocational skills to facilitate acquisition of new learning and skill building.
  • Establish safe and appropriate behaviors conducive to required work ethics and job training, and team building.

Program Description/Components:

  • The summer employment program is for youth ages 16 - 21. With the help of volunteers, the Foundation provides the coordination and supervision for this program.
  • Youth are assigned various maintenance jobs within the community - yard work, painting, general cleaning and home repairs
  • Instructions in leadership, safety, teamwork, work ethics and behaviors are provided daily
  • Serves as a source for community service hours to help students (or youth in the judicial system) meet their requirements.
  • The majority of the services are performed for senior citizens within the community.

Program Hours: 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, June-August.
